Donna Moresco

Donna Moresco, a certified Iyengar instructor and the owner of Yoga Salah has been involved in Iyengar Yoga for the past thirteen years. She started taking yoga class as part of a rehab routine to treat a knee injury. During this process Donna discovered that Iyengar Yoga not only helped with the physical injury, it also had a profound calming affect on the mind. These experiences lead to an interest in teaching.

Donna opened YogaSalah six years ago in order to teach and share the benefits of Iyengar Yoga with others. She studies with her teachers here in Atlanta regularly as well as studying with the senior teachers across the country, paying close attention to her ongoing certification and education process.

Donna was accepted to RIMYI the Rammamani Iyengar Memorial Yoga Institute  in Pune, India and spent one month studying with Geeta and Prasant Iyenga in 2005.

June 2007 again was spent at RIMYI studying and deepening her understanding of this vast art and science we call yoga. Ever grateful for the knowledge disseminated by Geeta and Prasant Iyengar she  looks forward to a 2009 return.

Danna Nelson

Danna originally reached out to Iyengar yoga six years ago seeking relief from lower back pain and the stress of a corporate job. Yoga delivered that and more. The calming effects on the mind and the challenge to the body continue to provide a balance in Danna's life she can't find anywhere else.

Danna has been teaching at Yoga Salah since 2004. She has a light-hearted approach to teaching in the belief that even for adults, learning should be fun but challenging. She regularly attends training with senior Iyengar teacher trainers in her pursuit of becoming certified.

Jane Robertson

Jane has been teaching kids yoga for a little over two years, and each class reminds her how much fun you can have with yoga and not get too serious about it. The kids' yoga classes brim with energy. The enthusiastic words of "I did it!" when a new asana is practiced make it so enjoyable.

The kids capture the essence of self focus and self achievement as they absorb all the other benefits of yoga.

When Jane is not in the yoga studio, she's either teaching at Montessori or getting creative with art classes. She loves traveling abroad, exploring new places and experiencing different cultures - but her favorite times are walking her dog or just hanging out with her husband.

Jane's role at YogaSalah has expanded and she is now teaching two beginner classes on Tuesday and Thursday mornings.

Marcy Powers

Marcy Powers has taught classes at Yoga Salah since 2004. In 1993, she severely injured her back in a boating accident. Numerous doctors stated she would never return to full-time employment and advised she should learn to live with acute pain. After years of exploring alternative methods of pain management, she was drawn to yoga and has been practicing since 1998.

Today, as a result of yoga, she does all the things she was told she could never do and has a devoted asana practice in the midst of a busy life. She has studied with many senior Iyengar teachers and hopes to be accepted at the Ramamani Iyengar Memorial Yoga Institute in Pune, India. Marcy is a teacher, a mother and a grandmother.

Marcy has been an important part of YogaSalah for some time now, but is in need of a little down time. She will not be teaching until further notice.
